Quartararo wins pole in Malaysia and Márquez ends up on the ground
Fabio Quartararo will be out this Sunday from pole in the Malaysian Grand Prix after marking the best time in the classification. The French pilot snatched the first place at the last moment to the Spanish Maverick Viñales, while Marc Márquez suffered an accident which prevented him from completing the session.
In the search for pole, Márquez took the wheel of Quartararo, who in training had shown himself as the fastest driver on the track. However, the presence of Danilo Petrucci in the finish line caused a loss of the world champion who went to the ground in a spectacular fall that forced him to go through the medical center. It will start from the eleventh position.
"It is truly amazing", celebrated an excited Quartararo after marking the best time. "It has been a fantastic day. Very satisfied with my qualification, super happy and also for the team," he added.
On Sunday, the Frenchman will share the first line with the Spanish Maverick Viñales and his teammate, the Italian Franco Morbidelli.
The second line will be integrated by the Australian Jack Miller, the British Cal Crutchlow and the Italian Valentino Rossi, while from the third will depart the Spanish Alex Rins, the Italian Danilo Petrucci and the French Johann Zarco.
