Roland Garros, in check for 15 possible positives for coronavirus
Roland Garros is punctuated by the appearance of possible positives for coronavirus the day before the start of the qualifying phase. The Parisian tournament has to face assumptions Covid-19 contagions within tennis players and their teams, resulting in the withdrawal of several of them on the eve of the competition kick-off. The exact number of positives is unknown, but it is speculated that, between the male and female, the cases may exceed ten.
The Spanish Bernabé Zapata, Ernesto Escobedo, Denis Istomin and Pedja Kristin signed off on Sunday morning from the list of registered for the preliminary, some names that are added to that of the Bosnian Damir Dzumhur – along with Istomin -, the tennis player with the greatest reputation of those mentioned and who had been Novak Djokovic in the first round of the US Open. In the case of Bernabé Zapata, the positive for coronavirus comes from the hand of his coach, but it would have meant the removal of the painting anyway.
The tennis players of the previous had to be in Paris from Thursday, where they would carry out a brief quarantine until the two controls stipulated by the Roland Garros organization were optimal and allowed them to first carry out the training sessions at the facilities and later the qualifying competition for the final draw.
