The cold returns with more than 20 provinces on alert for rain, snow and hail
20 provinces will be on Monday yellow warning (risk) for rain, snowfall and coastal phenomena, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which provides for a drop in temperatures in almost the entire country.
It will be cloudy or covered with rainfall in the Cantabrian area, and may also affect the Ebro and western Pyrenees in a dispersed way, tending to remit throughout the day. In the southeastern peninsular, Balearic Islands, Strait and Melilla, locally strong or persistent showers are expected, and accompanied by storm and hail, mainly in the southern surroundings of the Valencian community. Precisely, the AEMET has decreed yellow warnings for rain in Cádiz, Málaga, Ceuta, Alicante, Valencia and Murcia.
There is also a probability of precipitation in other areas of the southeast quadrant of the Peninsula and the Central System in the early hours, while in the Canary Islands some weak rains are expected in the north of more prominent islands.
Likewise, the snow level on the Peninsula will be this Monday at 1,200 meters down to 800 to 1,000 meters, in northwest; in the Pyrenees, it will range between 1,000 and 1,200 meters; in the center, it will be between 1,200 and 1,400; and in the south, between 1,600 and 1,800 meters. Cantabria, Ávila, León, Palencia, Segovia and Asturias will be on Monday for snowfall.
With regard to temperatures, the diurnal will suffer a descent, except in the peninsular Atlantic slope, where they will remain unchanged. The descent may be locally noticeable in the peninsular southeast. The minima will also experience a decrease at the end of the day in large areas, with weak frosts in mountainous areas, which will be more intense in the Pyrenees.
Finally, the winds will be of northern component in most of the country, with intervals of strong in the coast of Galicia, Ampurdán, Baleares and coastlines of the peninsular southeast. Girona, Castellón, Alicante, Valencia, A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra, Ibiza and Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca have warnings for strong waves this Monday.
