The president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL)the Paraguayan Alejandro Dominguezand that of Chile, Sebastian Piñera, they plan to hold a meeting in Santiago before the end of the Copa Libertadores 2019, whose preparations take place in the middle of the social outbreak that shakes the country.
The situation in Chile, with several deaths and daily protests, has led to a wave of rumors about the dispute of the final single game, scheduled for November 23 in the National Stadium of Santiago de Chile between River plate Argentinian and Flamengo Brazilian.
CONMEBOL announced Tuesday that Domínguez's hearing with "the president of the Republic of Chile and authorities is part of the preparations for the realization of the single CONMEBOL final @ Libertadores, as it has been done so far." CONMEBOL sources told EFE that the date of the meeting depends on Piñera's agenda and that it could occur at the beginning of next week.
The statement was made public five days after CONMEBOL confirmed its decision to maintain the final of the Copa Libertadores 2019 in Chile despite social unrest in the country.

The instability caused CONMEBOL to suspend the Futsal America Cup that had to be disputed in the Chilean city of Los Angeles between October 23 and 30.
