He Ministry of Universities and the Endesa Foundation launch a new call for the Prince of Asturias Chair at Georgetown University for the next academic year 2021-22.
This call is part of the agreement between the Georgetown University, the Ministry of Universities, the ENDESA Foundation and the Embassy of Spain in the United States, and will allow the hiring of a specialist professor of recognized prestige and teaching experience in Spanish universities belonging to the fields of Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Humanities and related areas. The objective of the Chair is to promote a better and complete knowledge in the United States of the current Spanish reality.
Candidates interested in filling the position must present their CV, a motivation letter and an action plan with the academic, teaching, research and outreach activities that they propose to develop in the chair. The application must be submitted in both Spanish and English through a form provided in this regard on the website of the Ministry of Universities.
The three candidates best valued by the selection committee, made up of eight members elected by the three entities that signed the agreement, will go to the final phase of the process, in which they will be interviewed by Georgetown University.
The final candidate will cover the position for a minimum period of one year and may be extended up to a maximum of two times, with which its maximum possible duration will be three years.
The person occupying the Chair will receive a salary of $ 107,000 per year. The cost of this, however, amounts to a total of $ 150,447 per year, when adding the supplementary benefits of the position and the expenses related to the operations, programming and research of the Chair. This financing will be assumed by the Endesa Foundation, which will contribute 106,447 dollars, and Georgetown University, which will contribute 44,000 dollars.
The deadline for receiving applications will be from January 12 to February 11 of this year. Applications must be submitted online through the Electronic Office of the Ministry of Universities.
